MATERIALS
NaturallyCaron.com Spa (75% Microdenier Acrylic/25% Bamboo;): 2 1/2 oz (A), 3 oz (B), 3 1/2 oz (C) Shown in: #0008 Misty Taupe (A), #0004 Green Sheen (B), #0007 Naturally (C).

One size US H-8 (5mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge.

Yarn needle

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Scarf measures approximately 34"/86.5cm around top edge, 62"/157.5cm around lower edge, and 23"/58.5cm from top edge to lower edge.

Note: Gathering of row edges when joining panels, and stretch of lace fabric, will cause finished circumferences to vary.

GAUGE
One panel = 7 1/2"/19.5cm wide; In pattern, 2 pattern repeats = 5"/12.5cm.

STITCHES USED
Chain (ch), double crochet (dc), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st)

SPECIAL TERMS
shell: 5 dc in indicated chain or stitch.

sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together—Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, (2 loops on hook), insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTE
The cowl is made from three panels that are then joined along the long edges and into a large ring.

I had been approached by a regular customer of mine, a mother of two small children, to create some treat/gift bags for the upcoming birthday of her little girl.  With the Bubble Guppies (kids tv show) as the theme, our first thought was to create character bags for each child.  However, instead we agreed on mermaid tail or fish tail bags, keeping in theme of the tv show, but making the bags similar to one another. (and avoiding any child conflict on wanting another child's bag instead:) ) I am quite pleased with the result, and have decided to share this free pattern with you today! Starting from the bottom up, you will work the tail fin back and forth in short rows, where the first and last row are joined, and continue to work up in rounds.  The top decorative edge is made by using the crocodile stitch, and finally finished off with the simple drawstring. Cabled Headband Hat w/big Button -free crochet pattern-

Here it is, my version of the crochet cabled headband slouchy hat with a great big button! I've been making this hat for over two years now, and it's still my top seller at local craft fairs, markets, and custom orders.  I've honestly been making it free form and from memory, but recently decided to actually write it down so that I can share it with you.  It's a very cute hat, and only requires knowledge of the basic stitches, plus the crab stitch (otherwise known as rsc - reverse single crochet) and working over post stitches. Baby Sport Diaper Cover -free crochet pattern-

I had been asked recently to make a baby blanket, and when I was done, I had a bit of yarn left over.  So I was thinking about using up the rest of my baby yarn to make a cute hat and diaper cover set to match the baby's blanket theme.  I've never made a diaper cover before, and I didn't think it would be too hard to find a free pattern, and it wasn't...  ...except that every single pattern that I found used medium worsted weight yarn, and I wanted to use my baby light sport weight yarn!  So that's how this pattern came to be.  This is an easy pattern starting with the top band, continuing all of the way around to the opposite end by using simple hdc stitches. Then the border is worked in sc stitches, and finished off by sewing on 2 buttons. Make it all one color, or add a sporty stripe. Enjoy!
