Chevron Belt -free crochet pattern-

Image
I need a new belt, maybe I will make this one!  I have a lot of crochet thread scraps that I could use to give it a cool color combination!  The designer used two strands of crochet thread to achieve the firmness of this belt, but you could most likely use any yarn.  I do like the idea of the thread though, it has a different feel.  I can't wait to get some down time to try this out! Comfy Cotton Shorts -free crochet pattern-

This pattern was a spontaneous idea that came to mind after buying this yarn.  The yarn was meant for a different project, but I had decided not to do it, sooo.... I can't stand having a large ball of yarn in my stash with no plans for it.  I have some ideas for crochet cotton shorts, which I was going to use a lighter weight cotton, but thought, "hey, I'm going to try these in the worsted weight."  Normally I would have used a different color, I'm not real fan of this color blend, but I AM pretty happy with the design itself. It's very easy and it works up quick.   There's also so many ways to customize these shorts!  You can easily make them shorter or longer, use multiple colors, stripes, add pockets or leave them without, or add even more pockets... it's up to you!  I can't wait to see your projects. And here's a friendly warning! This particular yarn DOES shrink!  So don't put them in the dryer, be safe and hang them to dr...

G Squared Shorts -free crochet pattern-

If you can make a granny square, then you can make these shorts!   Actually, I’ve written out the granny square instructions to help you out, if you’re new to this popular, highly used, and awesome square motif!  If you already know how to make a granny square, then you can just follow the color changes up until the last row.  The last row of each square is altered to add the “gusset” or crotch in the same fashion as denim shorts.  From here, the motifs are sewn together to form the shorts.  They will look big at this point, so here’s where the waist is shaped in 3 simple rows.  You may add a drawstring if you wish, or go really crazy and continue on to full length pants.   (My next project!) I chose navy, grey, and white worsted weight yarns, mainly because I had them in my stash already!  So get creative and use whatever colors you want.  These would look pretty nice in one solid color as well...
