It's finally warming up out there, and when that happens I automatically go into spring mode!  We've all seen the slippers made from flip flop soles, so I was pleased to find this crochet sandal pattern made from the soles of flip flops!  I love my flip flops, and I can't wait to play around with something like this!  They are adorable. These cute crochet socks are adorable!  The spiral in the heel gives these socks a unique twist. This design is quite different than any other sock pattern that I have seen, as you begin at the heel!  Then you work the leg, and finish off with the foot and toe.  This pattern looks very interesting, I can't wait to give it a go. This is a Ravelry download. Designed By : Ooh I love It! Flip Flop Slippers -free crochet pattern-

Image
Well, I guess I'm going to have to post this pattern today because I keep getting this sent to my wall, messaged, and tagged to me on Facebook :D  I actually did see this prior, via Pinterest and kind of skipped over it, but everyone else seems to really love it!  You can easily turn your flip flops into crochet slippers!  Basically, you just poke holes into the flip flop foam to create a border to crochet into.  (I used a large curved upholstery needle) They are super cute, and the only reason that I had skipped over it, was because I have done it before and the result was great at first... but they didn't hold up.  The foam ripped all of the way through in several places and created holes.  Maybe I used a bad quality flip flop, maybe I was too rough on them, maybe, several maybe's... that being said, maybe I will have to try again and see what happens.  They are pretty adorable, so it's worth it to give it a shot, and nice that someone has explain...

Double Strapped Slippers -free crochet pattern-

Knee High Socks -free crochet pattern-

Image
There's a photo circulating on Pinterest like a wild fire of busy knit knee high socks with flower embellishments.  I had been sent that photo numerous times with people wanting me to make them. However, the pattern is knit, and I really didn't have the time to attack and design a crochet version.  But, it seems I wasn't the only one!  This designer has done it!  And I think she did a pretty amazing job as well, look at that detail and texture. So if you've been seeing that sock photo circulating your social media feeds, here's the crochet replacement! Carousel Slippers -free crochet pattern-

I love the look of these crochet slippers!  They look stylish, cozy, and fun, and the pattern is written for all women's sizes, you can't go wrong!  I think this would be also another great project to use up yarn leftovers in the color work.  That's exciting, because I have a bad habit of keeping tiny scraps of yarn.  The slouchy effect of these slippers are cute, I am pretty sure this is being added to my "to make" list. Legwarmer Slippers -free crochet pattern-

Image
These crochet legwarmer boot style slippers are a result of a custom order that I recently made for a customer.  I was sent a random photo of some slippers that were posted on a local buy/sell web site, so "someone" has made these before.  But from which pattern?  Did they invent them?  What materials did they use?  I do not know!  A google image search brought me this one and only photo which has since been removed.  ( I assume they sold them!)  So... began the thought process.  The slipper bottoms look a lot like the bottoms of of my short crocodile boots , so I rolled with that.  The tops, are really easy, just basically rows of dc stitches.  The tops are attached to the bottoms as you work from top to bottom, with no sewing required! But as simple as they are, they are quite cute and comfy!  Enjoy! Designed By: Farrah Hodgson Skill Level: Easy Materials: Craftsmart Value (from Micheals, similar to Red Heart Su...

Short Crocodile Boots -free crochet pattern-

Image
I've been on a slipper making frenzy lately, and decided that it was about time that I write this pattern out so that other people can understand it!  Boot slippers can be quite easy to make once you find a sole and foot pattern that you like to follow, because from there, it's all in the leg of the slipper.  This pattern begins loosely following the pattern for Rows of Cables Boot Slipper s, but changes into the crocodile stitch for the cuff.  I love the crocodile stitch, and if you've never tried it, here's your chance!  Many people use different variations for this stitch, it depends on what you're making, but the basic concept is always the same.  I will try my best to describe it to you (with photos!). Rows of Cables Boot Slippers -free crochet pattern-

Image
I can't take full credit for this pattern!  This is a "re-make" of my mother's pattern, Cabled Boot Slippers .  I love the look of cables, boots, and slippers; and love the original pattern, however, the yarn I was using did not match the pattern gauge so I had to change it up a bit.   The original uses double strands of Red Heart Super Saver worsted, and I've been using Red Heart Comfort worsted.  Both are worsted, but there's quite a difference!  My yarn, double stranded, made the original pattern come out way too big!  I tried dropping my hook size, it seemed to help for size, but it was really hard on my hands as the tension was so tight.  I wasn't letting this pattern go, so I had to re-think the process! So now using one strand of worsted yarn, I was able to re-write the pattern.  They are not as chunky as the original and have a couple extra cable rows for length.  But the basic concept is the same!  These slippers wo...
