Pattern Paradise always has the most beautiful photos!  Besides being a great photo, this pattern for a crochet hair kerchief is absolutely lovely!  I agree with the designer that these were popular in our youth, and I do also see a comeback being made with these.  They are cute, easy to make, and work up fast!  I love they they can hide a bad hair day! This pattern seemed appropriate today, as my little one is obsessed with unicorns and has been coloring pictures of them all day, (and driving me a little crazy with constant coloring page printing!) I designed this crochet hair kerchief around the same time that I wrote up the pattern for Pineapple Head Hair Kerchief .  This pattern loosely follows the same crochet method as the granny square, however the shells are worked into the previous shells instead of the spaces between, and it is, of course, a triangle!  This is a fun,easy, and gratifying pattern, as it works up quick! This pretty headscarf uses simple chains and shells arranged in a specific manner to achieve this lacy cross-over look; and is finished with slip stitched chains used to tie off. I find a lot of the time when I'm designing something with a special feature (such as the pineapple), that it inspires me to create another pattern using the same feature.  My recent Pineapple Up Barefoot Sandals pattern along with another hair kerchief pattern (that I have yet to write up) are the inspiration for this pattern.  This is a great accessory for the summer, and it is a fun item to make!
