Slouchy Stripes Backpack -free crochet pattern-

Summer is almost here! With that, I find it hard to crochet my favorite pieces because it's so hot outside and... I am usually busy enjoying the outside!  But today, I found this lovely backpack pattern and it gave me back some excitement!  Accessories like this are great for any time of the year, and this crochet backpack can be used for picnics, the beach, anything really!   Designed By : Amanda Slate Skill Level : Easy Materials:  K Hook N Hook Bulky yarn in 2 colors (or more!) Jute Web Hula Hoop Mandala -free crochet pattern-

Image
This is my second hula hoop mandala that I've made from jute!  I made my first one last fall, when hula hoops were 'out of season' and it was almost impossible to find one!  When I did find one, it had a bend in the hoop, I bought it anyway at a discount, and tried to get the bend out, but it came back and sorta ruined the look of my mandala.... that being said, this is the best time of year to buy hula hoops (spring!) This lovely is hanging on my black wall right now.  Although it makes for great and interesting wall art, it is going to make its way outside and hang from my garden shed (that I need to paint first).  This mandala is not hard to make, just a bit rough on the hands! You can easily make one in a few hours. If I could give jute a yarn weight, I'd say it's bulky or chunky. The hula hoop is one of the larger ones, although you could use a smaller one and simply adjust the number of stitches, as long as it's in multiples of 5. You begin by working...

All Wrapped Up Infinity Scarf -free crochet pattern-

Image
Now here's a clever idea!  Use two colors of yarn and knot them to create a beautiful infinity scarf. The scarf itself is a fairly easy pattern, and the designer includes a video tutorial on how to knot the scarf. Chunky yarn is used for this design, but it would be very easy to change it up with a different yarn weight as well. And the color... I have to mention the colors, I love these colors!  Mixing a bright with a dark really shows off the knot. As soon as I see black, white, or grey I get excited. Even more so, this is one nice super scarf!  So, you've probably noticed by now that super scarves are the next big thing in crochet and knit this season, and I honestly didn't know what to think of them at first. But the more I see, the more I like. For example this crochet super scarf, with the use of chevron lines in basic colors, which makes a super impact! And the pom poms... I love those too! The Twist Headband -free crochet pattern-

Image
Although I love a great winter hat to keep me warm and stylish during the cold winter months, sometimes, you just want to wear a ponytail!  On those days I like to wear a warm headband instead, so that's my main reason for a headband. However, crochet headbands look fabulous with any style of hair, and this one is perfectly fashionable and simple. The twist headband uses basic crochet stitches with an interesting (and cute) twist!  (note: you will need some sewing skills) Designed By: All About Ami Skill Level: Easy Materials: Lion Brand Woolspun Bulky Yarn Size 6.5mm Crochet Hook Get the Free Pattern!

A Crochet Headboard - A look inside my bedroom!

Image
This is where I sleep. I'm inviting you into my personal space today because I want to show you my headboard!  I'm so excited about this because my headboard is of course... crocheted. I gave my room a makeover a few months ago, and I'm still looking for some pieces to complete the look, like a cool chandelier, and some type of large artwork... I haven't found anything "perfect for me" yet, but it will come in time, I'm sure. My headboard used to be on that list.  I originally wanted a big white upholstered headboard.  I love the way they look, so classy, sophisticated and cozy.  And they're really expensive!  After already dropping a pile of $$$ on decorating the rest of my new house and developing my yard, a big lavish headboard was just not in my budget. And I'm cheap? No.... not cheap, I prefer to save my money for fun and yarn (and landscaping)!  Most of my home decor is second hand finds, that I either re-finish or things that I actual...
