Image
If you're an avid crocheter, you probably know all about DROPS Design from Garnstudio.  Based out of Norway, with over 100 stores selling their yarns across the world, they have one of the most beautiful assortments of free patterns, crochet and knit alike!  Their website is easy to use with 17 language translations and an easy to use pattern search. I love looking at all of DROPS Design's patterns, but today I am focusing on summer!  When I think of summer, I think of beautiful white flowing and lacy styled garments with a relaxed causal vibe. Some of these patterns are new to 2016 and some you may have seen in the past, but they are all the perfect picture of summer.  Enjoy! Tommy "Crochet" Hilfiger -Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear

Image
I've been spending the past few days researching for an upcoming article, and came across the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2016, Ready to Wear fashion runway show.  So.... sidetracked now from my original article, I have to stop and share this show with you! While I'm not the biggest fan of Tommy Hilfiger's work, this show stopped me dead in my tracks, because I loved it, and of course, you've guessed it: crochet is involved!  And when I say "involved", I mean it takes over a large portion of the show! The amount of crochet work that went into the pieces shown on the runway is astounding!  I can't help but think, "Who made this?!" and "How long did it take?!"  Maybe I don't want to know the answer.... but the great part is, YOU CAN MAKE THESE YOURSELF, or most of them anyway. I would say if you have a lot of experience and have the concept of making your own patterns, some of these should be no problem to free-style.  (though they may...

Here's something a little different today, and I think it's beautiful! By using crochet motifs and joining you will create this lacy and intricate design.  You could use this for wearing at home, or why not line it with fabric and wear it to the beach?!  The designer gives a photo tutorial on how to complete this pattern.  Chart reading skills are a bonus, if you've never read charts before; well, here's a great start! Queen Anne's Lacy Shorts -free crochet pattern-

There are a lot of nice crochet shorts patterns out there, however, not many are free.  This pattern uses Queen Anne's lace as the focal point of the crochet fabric!  I would love to see someone wearing these, as the pattern includes product photos only.  The pattern also includes written instructions, a chart for the lace, and helpful photos!  This is sized for medium only, but with some hook experience, I bet you can easily size it! Handmade Bikini Bra -free crochet pattern-

This pattern is so simple, yet has the perfect shaping.  I was hoping to come across something so easy, I don't have much time to write my own patterns now, and alas, here it is.  Although the pattern and web page is in Italian, you can easily translate the page and the instructions are fairly easy to follow.  Keep in mind that: pb - low point (is a single crochet stitch) and mpa - half a point higher (is a half double crochet stitch).
