V2- Barefoot Sandals are Part Two to "It's Vee Stitch " Barefoot Sandals! By using the V-stitch and shells, you can make almost any decorative formation.  These are easy, fun, and work up quickly.

Materials:
  • Knitca Socks (75% Superwash Merino Wool 25% Nylon) Sport Weight (I've also made these with Size 10 crochet cotton, they work out the same!)
  • Size 1.5mm crochet hook
  • needle to sew in ends
  • feet
Size: Adult feet, easy to customize

Sts Used: Ch=chain, Sl st-Slip Stitch, Dc=Double Crochet, V-st=V Stitch

Special Terms Used:

V-Stitch= (dc-ch1-dc) in same space.
V-Stitch in next V-stitch= V-stitch in ch1 space of next v-stitch

THE PATTERN

Ch20, sl st in 1st ch to form a loop

Row 1: ch4 (counts as 1dc and ch1), [(dc-ch1) twice, dc] in same st.

Row 2: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, [ch1, v-stitch in next ch1 space] twice.

Row 3: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, [ch2, v-stitch in next v-stitch] twice.

Row 4: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, [ch3, v-stitch in next v-stitch] twice.

Row 5: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, [ch4, v-stitch in next v-stitch] twice.

Row 6: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, ch3, (v-stitch, ch1, v-stitch) in next v-xtitch, ch3, v-stitch in last v-stitch.

Row 7: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, ch3, v-stitch in next v-stitch, ch2, skip ch1 space, v-stitch in next v-stitch, ch3, v-stitch in last v-stitch.

Row 8: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, [ch3, v-stitch in next v-stitch] 3 times.

Row 9: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, [ch4, v-stitch in next v-stitch] 3 times.

Row 10: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, [ch5, v-stitch in next v-stitch] 3 times.

Row 11: Turn, sl st in 1st ch1 space; ch4, dc in same space, [ch6, v-stitch in next v-stitch] 3 times.

Fasten off. Sew in ends.

I had been approached by a regular customer of mine, a mother of two small children, to create some treat/gift bags for the upcoming birthday of her little girl.  With the Bubble Guppies (kids tv show) as the theme, our first thought was to create character bags for each child.  However, instead we agreed on mermaid tail or fish tail bags, keeping in theme of the tv show, but making the bags similar to one another. (and avoiding any child conflict on wanting another child's bag instead:) ) I am quite pleased with the result, and have decided to share this free pattern with you today! Cabled Headband Hat w/big Button -free crochet pattern-

Here it is, my version of the crochet cabled headband slouchy hat with a great big button! I've been making this hat for over two years now, and it's still my top seller at local craft fairs, markets, and custom orders.  I've honestly been making it free form and from memory, but recently decided to actually write it down so that I can share it with you.  It's a very cute hat, and only requires knowledge of the basic stitches, plus the crab stitch (otherwise known as rsc - reverse single crochet) and working over post stitches. Baby Sport Diaper Cover -free crochet pattern-

I had been asked recently to make a baby blanket, and when I was done, I had a bit of yarn left over.  So I was thinking about using up the rest of my baby yarn to make a cute hat and diaper cover set to match the baby's blanket theme.  I've never made a diaper cover before, and I didn't think it would be too hard to find a free pattern, and it wasn't...  ...except that every single pattern that I found used medium worsted weight yarn, and I wanted to use my baby light sport weight yarn!  So that's how this pattern came to be.  This is an easy pattern starting with the top band, continuing all of the way around to the opposite end by using simple hdc stitches. Then the border is worked in sc stitches, and finished off by sewing on 2 buttons. Make it all one color, or add a sporty stripe. Enjoy!
