  • Catania in 4 colors (Sport; 5 ply); 137 yds by 1.75 oz, or 125 m by 50 gr. 
  • crochet hook no E 4, or 3.5 european style
Measurements: diameter will be about 14.5 inches, or 37 cm.

    I love your mandala placemats! The colors are so cheerful and really brighten up the table. Crochet adds such a personal and handmade touch that makes a space feel cozy. I had been approached by a regular customer of mine, a mother of two small children, to create some treat/gift bags for the upcoming birthday of her little girl.  With the Bubble Guppies (kids tv show) as the theme, our first thought was to create character bags for each child.  However, instead we agreed on mermaid tail or fish tail bags, keeping in theme of the tv show, but making the bags similar to one another. Cabled Headband Hat w/big Button -free crochet pattern-

Here it is, my version of the crochet cabled headband slouchy hat with a great big button! I've been making this hat for over two years now, and it's still my top seller at local craft fairs, markets, and custom orders.  I've honestly been making it free form and from memory, but recently decided to actually write it down so that I can share it with you.  It's a very cute hat, and only requires knowledge of the basic stitches, plus the crab stitch (otherwise known as rsc - reverse single crochet) and working over post stitches. Baby Sport Diaper Cover -free crochet pattern-

I had been asked recently to make a baby blanket, and when I was done, I had a bit of yarn left over.  So I was thinking about using up the rest of my baby yarn to make a cute hat and diaper cover set to match the baby's blanket theme.  I've never made a diaper cover before, and I didn't think it would be too hard to find a free pattern, and it wasn't...  ...except that every single pattern that I found used medium worsted weight yarn, and I wanted to use my baby light sport weight yarn!  So that's how this pattern came to be.  This is an easy pattern starting with the top band, continuing all of the way around to the opposite end by using simple hdc stitches. Then the border is worked in sc stitches, and finished off by sewing on 2 buttons. Make it all one color, or add a sporty stripe. Enjoy!
