Easy Peace-y Peace Sign Square -free crochet pattern-
These peace sign
motifs can be made with any type of yarn- using any crochet hook to match. They have been designed so that you can
interchange, mix and match, and attach to the granny square motif!
Two sizes are available for the peace sign square,
which gives you more freedom in creating an array of designs.
Materials: Any yarn and hook to match. For this pattern, the following was used:

Small amounts of Worsted Size 4 medium yarn, Red Heart Super
Saver in White and Black.

Size 5.00mm (H) crochet hook.
Size: Small Motif= 4 inch square, Large Motif= 5
inch square

SMALL PEACE SIGN
MOTIF
With Main Color;
ch5, sl st in 1st ch to form a loop.
Rnd 1: Ch3 (counts as 1dc), dc in ch5 loop, ch1;
*2dc in ch5 loop, ch1** 7 times; sl
st in the 3rd ch of the beginning ch3 to join. (8 groups of 2dc-ch1 made)
Rnd 2: Sl st in next dc. Attach
Accent Color, drop Main Color; sc in ch1 space; ch1, sc in next 2 sts, work
a long dc (between 2dc clusters) that
extends down into the center ch5 loop; skip over ch1 space, *sc in next 2 sts,
sc in ch1 space** twice; *sc in next
2 sts, long dc (between 2dc clusters)
extending into the center ch5 loop, skip over ch1 space** 3 times; sc in next 2 sts, sc in ch1 space; sc in next 2 sts, sl st
in the 1st sc to join.
Rnd 3: Attach Main Color, drop Accent Color;
ch5 (counts as 1dc and ch2), *(2dc in
next st, dc in next st) 3 times, ch2** 3
times; (2dc in next st, dc in next st) twice, 2dc in next st, sl st in 3rd
ch of the beginning ch5 to join. (Nine dc down each side, 2ch in each
corner)

next 2dc) twice, 2dc in beginning ch2 sp, sl st in 3rd ch of the beginning
ch5 to join. (Twelve dc down each side,
2ch in each corner)
*Note: You may continue on as many rounds of granny
stitch as you like by repeating this sequence.
You will be increasing 3dc (or one 3dc shell) on each side of the square
for every round added, ch2 in each corner.
LARGE PEACE SIGN

With Main Color;
ch5, sl st in 1st ch to form a loop.

st in the 3rd ch of the beginning ch3 to join. (8 groups of 2dc-ch1 made)

*skip over next 2dc, 5dc in next ch1 space** 7 times, sl st in 3rd ch of the beginning ch3 to join. (8 groups of 5dc made)
Rnd 3: Attach
Accent Color, drop Main Color; ch1 (counts
as 1st sc), sc in next 4 dc, work a long dc (between 5dc clusters and over 2dc of rnd 1) that extends down into
the center ch5 loop, *sc in next 5dc, ch1** twice; *sc in next 5dc, work a long dc that extends
down into the center ch5 loop** 3 times; *sc in next 5dc, ch1** twice, sl st in the 1st ch to
join. (48 sts around motif)
Rnd 4: Drop Accent Color, Attach Main Color; ch4
(counts as 1tr), tr in next sc, dc in
