365 Crochet

I love the crocodile stitch, so naturally I would have to love these crochet fingerless gloves!  The color of these beauties caught me right away. They are fun and elegant at the same time, I am pretty sure that they'd look amazing in any colorway. This pattern is part of a crochet-a-long by Furls Crochet. If you still haven't learned how to make the crocodile stitch, now's a great time!  I've been making these for a holiday craft show coming up soon, so by now I have the pattern memorized. However, I'd love to share it with you, because it's quick and pretty easy; don't let those complicated looking stitches scare you away. Once you learn the crocodile stitch, you'll be designing your own patterns! (btw, the crocodile stitch makes a great mitten or glove cuff!)  I only included one size for these cuffs, however they do stretch quite a bit, but if you'd like them smaller or larger, you may adjust your hook size. I've been on a slipper making frenzy lately, and decided that it was about time that I write this pattern out so that other people can understand it!  Boot slippers can be quite easy to make once you find a sole and foot pattern that you like to follow, because from there, it's all in the leg of the slipper.  This pattern begins loosely following the pattern for Rows of Cables Boot Slipper s, but changes into the crocodile stitch for the cuff.  I love the crocodile stitch, and if you've never tried it, here's your chance!  Many people use different variations for this stitch, it depends on what you're making, but the basic concept is always the same.  I will try my best to describe it to you (with photos!). I love making crochet clutches, there are so many ideas and ways to decorate them!  Make it the color you want, line it, (even add some pockets or dividers inside), and top it off with your clasp or button of choice!  In the past, I've even taken the insides, that were perfectly good, out of an old worn clutch, and sewn it into the inside of my new clutch.  And the crocodile stitch...  it's not a hard stitch once you get used to it, so give it a try!
