Quick Cat Mask -free crochet pattern-

Image
“… Stoic, silent, and mysterious, the cat represents the guardian of the Otherworld.  They keep the secrets of the Otherworld eternally to themselves, as they gaze with guile upon a world that does not see or understand the depth of their knowledge.” (http://www.whats-your-sign.com/cat-animal-symbolism.html) I wrote this pattern a couple of years ago and it was exclusively available on Ravelry as a PDF file. I almost forgot about it, until recently, because I was going through my free patterns list and creating a photo collage of my patterns. As of now, it is no longer available anywhere but here!!  So I present you... a quick and cute Halloween (or just for fun) pattern, enjoy! Reversible Feathers - Free Crochet Pattern

Image
How cool is this?!  I know that it's hard to get into crochet during the summer, not just with the idea of making slippers and hats, because there's plenty of cute bag designs, home decor, etc that you could make, but I know for me it's lack of time!  My summers are short here up north so I'm outside most of the summer. But... I did make a dreamcatcher this summer and I wish I had seen this first!  Now I won't go remove all of my real feathers from it, but now I want to make another one because these clever crochet feathers are awesome!  They are also easy to make and the color combinations are endless. Also a wonderful scrap yarn project, you could also use these as embellishments for all sorts of other accessories. The pattern is written out and includes photos, no problem! Designed By:  Esperanza and Ana Celia, translated by Gava Crochet Love Skill Level: Easy Materials:  3 mm crochet hook.  Any yarn to match crochet hook size. Yarn ne...

Here is an example of something so beautiful, but yet so easy!  All you need to know is how to make a single crochet (and a bit of basic sewing). Basically, you just use a large hook and make two rectangular panels. Then you sew them together and voila!  There is a video tutorial if you actually need help.  Another bonus, is that this can be worn in so many ways!  The designer lists and shows a quite a few of them. Casserole Carrier -free crochet pattern-

Image
This is a pretty neat crochet idea for the home. If you've ever made casseroles (or any dish really) to take to a pot luck, party, or event, then you know what a pain it can be to carry; especially if it's hot, or you have a load of other things to carry at the same time. With the crochet casserole carrier you no longer have to worry about a spill!  This is a cute and clever idea, and completely reusable. Easy Basic Boho Hood -free crochet pattern-

Image
You can do so many things with a basic crochet hood!  You can give it braids, buttons, beads, add ears, horns, eyes, pom poms, and so much more. I've been making a few hoods lately, and this is the pattern for its basic structure. I added big wooden beads onto the braids of mine to give it bit of a Bohemian vibe. I really love my basic hood pattern because it is not flat at the back, however instead, it sort of butterflies out and around the shoulders, so that there is no bulkiness behind the neck. This pattern is super easy!  It consists of half double crochet, chains, and a bit of reverse single crochet for the border.  Designed By: Farrah Hodgson  Skill Level: Easy Materials:   1 ball Red Heart Super Saver, (4) Medium Worsted Weight, Color: Aran Crochet Hook size 5.5mm (I) Large wooden beads, however many you wish, I used 14. Windowpane Scarf -free crochet pattern-

Image
I love the color changes taking place in this beautiful crochet infinity scarf!  What's great about this design, is that it actually doesn't require several different color changes and yarn; but it's done by using one yarn with a gradient color change on it's own. While you don't need to use the exact yarn as shown in the pattern, it is fairly easy to find an equivalent type of this yarn at any yarn store.  Using simple crochet techniques, you can create your own scarf in no time. This is a Ravelry download. Vibrant Bohemian Necklace -free crochet pattern-

Image
Baby it's cold outside this morning in this rural little community of New Brunswick, Canada!  While I've been obviously working away at winter apparel, the back of mind is yearning for spring. I know that it's probably not the best time to start talking about spring crochet, I just needed to find something different today, and alas; I found this wonderful bohemian necklace pattern!  Something about this caught my eye and made me fall in love with it right away. Maybe the colors, the style, the absolute simplicity, or maybe all of those!   Designed By: Ivona/Why I DIY Skill Level: Easy Materials:  Brass bead Brass chain Embroidery floss (four different colors) 3 mm hook Tapestry needle Get the Free Pattern!

All Wrapped Up Infinity Scarf -free crochet pattern-

Image
Now here's a clever idea!  Use two colors of yarn and knot them to create a beautiful infinity scarf. The scarf itself is a fairly easy pattern, and the designer includes a video tutorial on how to knot the scarf. Chunky yarn is used for this design, but it would be very easy to change it up with a different yarn weight as well. And the color... I have to mention the colors, I love these colors!  Mixing a bright with a dark really shows off the knot. Designed By: Left in Knots Skill Level: Easy Materials:  Two skeins of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Tonal; 'Night Sky' and 'Lime' L/8.0mm crochet hook Yarn needle Scissors Get the Free Pattern!

As soon as I see black, white, or grey I get excited. Even more so, this is one nice super scarf!  So, you've probably noticed by now that super scarves are the next big thing in crochet and knit this season, and I honestly didn't know what to think of them at first. But the more I see, the more I like. For example this crochet super scarf, with the use of chevron lines in basic colors, which makes a super impact! And the pom poms... I love those too!
